ICC T20 World Cup semis rain scenario: Rain has spoiled the fun of some of biggest games in the tournament like the Australia vs England and South Africa vs Zimbabwe.

The scenario would be quite different as have now if those matches were being played. Anyhow we have four teams after an exciting and nail-biting Super 12 stage who will cross swords in the semis. But what’s roaming in the minds of all that what will happen if rain interrupts the semi-final? Let’s find out.

The first semi-final will be played between New Zealand and Pakistan on Wednesday at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

According to the weather predictions on Wednesday, the temperature of the Sydney will remain pleasant throughout the day. There are no so such chances of rain. The fans can enjoy the first semi-final as the rain-god is in favour of it. There will be however partly cloudy, but not worry thing is it will not interrupt the game.

While the second semi-final will take place between India and England on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

As per the weather reports of Adelaide for Thursday, there will be less chances of rain on Thursday and the sky will remain partly cloudy throughout the day. Some showers, however, are predicted on the night of Wednesday and the possibility of showers on Thursday cannot be neglected.

ICC T20 World Cup semis: What if rain interrupts the semi final?

The number of overs to bowled will be revised as per the ICC-set overs per hour rate (14.11 over/ hour) if there will be delay or any interruption that forces loss of playing time.

While as per the latest ICC rules, it should be minimum of 10 overs bowled from both the sides in order to see the match results. The ICC (International Cricket Council) has recently announced this news for the knockouts.

 T20 World Cup 2022: What if the semi-final called-off due to rain?

The ICC has announced reserve days for the wash out knockout games. If any chance the semi-final will not be played on the original scheduled date then that game will be played on reserve day. The game will start from the same position on the reserve day.

If the game was not even happened on the reserve day, then the team who tops the points table will be announced as winner of that match.

While if the rain interrupts final and the match will not even happened on the reserve day too. In that case, both the teams will be announced as the joined champions of T20 World Cup 2022.

For those not aware, the same incident happened during the 2002 Champions Trophy. The match was didn’t happen on both the original and reserve days and thus India and Sri Lanka were announced as the joint-winners.
