T20 WC 2022 ENG Vs NZ: Harry Brooks looks to dominate in big clash against New Zealand

Harry Brooks on ENG Vs NZ

England batter Harry Brook is all set to dominate after he admitted to learn from his mistakes in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Here in this article we look at Harry Brooks on ENG Vs NZ.

The 23-year-old admitted that after a setback defeat against the neighbours, Ireland, he felt very overcautious.

While their next big game against Australia was called off due to rain, and put the three lions side into a deep trouble as a loss from here on will eliminate them from the tournament.

However, the team is confident and will look to begin their second last game campaign with an unchanged line-up.

England yet to play against New Zealand

They have to face the table-toppers New Zealand on Tuesday, November 1.

After starting the tournament on a high note, they faced a shock when Ireland defeated them by five runs.

Talking about that, Brook felt that he was too passive during the chase, as he only managed 18 off 21 balls. He admitted that he should have to be little cautious and hit a bit early in the innings as there were batters yet to come.

Brook shouldered some of the blame, accepting he was too passive in the middle-order and should have thrown caution to the wind earlier in his innings with plenty of batting still to come.

“I feel like batting five is always a tricky situation,” said Brook. “The other day, (being) three down in the powerplay is always tough. I was a little bit in my shell.

“I don’t think it was because it’s a World Cup. Think I was just trying to take it deep and obviously the rain caught us. But the batting we’ve got, you can always back it.

“That’s probably why I didn’t bat the way I wanted to. I could have probably taken a risk earlier knowing that we had Moeen, Livingstone, Curran, Woakes and Rashid to come.”

Brook’s form and failure

In England’s recent series against the Pakistan in Pakistan, Brook was just exceptional with the bat, having scored 238 in 6 innings at an average of 79.33 at a strike rate of 163.01.

He, however failed to continue his good run in a just before World series against Australia.

But an unbeaten 45 at the Gabba in a warm-up against Pakistan, again cemented his place in the team.

While taking about team England, he said that he is playing best players in the world and is currently learning from them.

“It’s great fun. I’m playing with some of the best players in the world, trying to learn from them. Obviously, I’m at the start of my career and hopefully I’ll play in several World Cups.”

England will face New Zealand in a do or die match on Tuesday. Incidentally, New Zealand knocked England out of last year’s World Cup at the semi-final clash.

With New Zealand are the current table toppers of their group and riding hope on confidence with an unbeaten status so far. Will look to dominate against the English side on Tuesday.
