A seasoned New Zealand team was announced on Monday with the inclusion of Kane Williamson and Tim Southee for the coming 50-over World Cup in India. Let us look at details on New Zealand ODI World Cup Squad.
Despite not having played much professional cricket this year, in good condition Kane Williamson will be back to captain New Zealand in the World Cup.
Williamson got injured during hii first game in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2023 editon, and was looking in trouble to miss the ODI World Cup in October this year.
But the right-hand batter made a quick recover and now is ready to make the world cup winning dream true in his fourth ODI World Cup apperance.
Apart from him, Tim Southee will also feature in the New Zealand World Cup team for the fourth time.
The squad looking balanced with all the players having plenty of experience playing at the internationl level. However, six out of fifteen will be featuring for the first time in New Zealand World Cup squad.
Daryl Mitchell, Devon Conway, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Rachin Ravindra and Will Young are the players to play their maiden ODI World Cup.
The Blackcaps was quite unfortunate in the last world cup, as despite looking a clear winner after the tied final and the thrilling super over, which also tied, opponent England was awarded as the winner due to the most boundaries count formula.
