Bangladesh bowling coach
The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed that Allan Donald, Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach. Will be available for the forthcoming home series against India.
The BCB appointed Donald till the conclusion of the 2022 T20 WC. According to Chowdhury, they intend the former South African pacer to be a member of Bangladesh’s support staff throughout the three-ODI and two-Test home series against India.
Talking about the extension, Chowdhury said. “Allan Donald is available during the home series against India. His contract (that is till the ICC T20 World Cup 2022) is an internal matter but he is available during the India series.”
IND Vs BAN: Extension for Foreign Coaches
It is in the air that BCB will decide whether to extend the contracts of their foreign coaches. It will be when they gather for their next board meeting.
Since Sridharan Sriram’s contract also expired with the T20 WC. The BCB has not yet stated whether they will continue to work with him. However, board insiders claim that since the BCB is happy with his performance in the competition. He is expected to receive an extension.
To lead the team in preparation for the India series, Bangladesh’s Test and ODI head coach Russell Domingo will arrive on November 14.
IND Vs BAN: Experimentation with Coaching
The BCB decided to use split coaching before the Asia Cup because the board was not happy with Domingo’s performance in the shortest format. Instead, Sriram was appointed as a technical consultant and given control of the T20 setup.
A senior BCB official says that given how well the pace unit has performed. While being led by Donald, they are happy with his performance.
After the tri-series opener in New Zealand, the Bangladesh team management decided to rest Mustafizur Rahman. And Donald was given the assignment to work on his bowling action to assist him to regain his previous rhythm. According to the official, “He (Donald) performed really well to lead Mustafizur throughout the tri-series prior to the World Cup and Fizz bowled fairly well in the international competition.”
The two teams will play 3 One Day Internationals and 2 Tests Matches in the Series.
