While Mohammad Azharuddin may have been cleared of all match-fixing allegations, the former captain of India has said he still does not know the reasons for his ban. In December 2000 the Board of Control for Cricket in India ( BCCI) handed him a life ban for his role in the notorious match-fixing case that rocked the entire world of cricket. Reportedly Mohammad Azharuddin had admitted to fixing matches in November of that year before the BCCI agreed to ban him for life.
