Sourav Ganguly, the spectacular ex- India captain, the outstanding ODI opener, and the president of BCCI turns 48 today. He made 11363 runs with the help of 22 ODI centuries. Ganguly has proved himself as one of the fantastic openers of the Indian team and often he is credited for transforming the squad in the early 2000s. Under his captaincy, India beat Australia in 2001 Test series, defeat England team in 2002 Natwest Trophy, reached final of 2003 World Cup, drew in 2004 Test series against England, and even beat Pakistan in 2005 Test series.
