2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup:The World Cup is the most awaited tournament for players and cricket fans alike. It is the dream of every cricketer to represent their country in the World Cup. T20 World Cup 2022 is one such opportunity for players who have made their international debuts recently. It is the big stage that makes big players. Cricketers who excel in such world events go on to have well-established careers.

We look at 5 exciting players who will be making their World Cup debut this edition:

#5 Naseem Shah

It was expected that Pakistan would miss Shaheen Afridi’s services in the Asia Cup. But Naseem Shah ensured that Pakistan didn’t have anything of it. He exploded into the scene right from the first over he delivered in the tournament. Shah then played a crucial cameo with the bat at the end against Afghanistan to knock India out of Asia Cup. He will take a liking to the bouncy pitches of Australia. Shah will be keenly followed in the World Cup.

#4 Harry Brook

Jonny Bairstow’s injury opens up an opportunity for young, Harry Brook. He is touted to be the next big thing in English cricket. Brook has hardly played 4 games for the national team but the promise is there for everyone to see. He has played 65 T20s in the domestic circuit striking at 149. Brook fits well with England’s attitude of going hell for leather. It will be interesting to see how he goes in Australian conditions.

#3 Tristan Stubbs

You know you are a special cricketer if a franchise like Mumbai Indians invests in you so early. Tristan Stubbs turned a lot of heads when the celebrated franchise picked him up in the IPL Mega auctions. Not for nothing were MI so interested in acquiring his services. He is a clean striker of the cricket ball.

Stubbs almost singlehandedly won a game for South Africa against England. He looks to possess an all-round game. His current T20I strike rate reads a massive 216.36. Do we need to say more?

#2 Harshal Patel

In a list filled with youngsters finding their feet at the international level, he is an exception. Harshal Patel is one of those cricketers who earned the India cap doing the hard yards. The 30-year-old had a breakthrough IPL 2021 that earned him a place in the national squad.

He has been impressive playing for India too. Patel will be the key asset in the middle and the death overs to restrict the opposition. The true surfaces of Australia will be a stern test for Harshal Patel.

#1 Tim David

He is undoubtedly the biggest box-office debutant in this edition. Tim David has made a name for himself playing in various franchise leagues across the world. He had a fantastic season with the Mumbai Indians in 2022 where he was one of their few shining lights.

The big-hitting Tim David has been a terrific addition to Australia’s existing list of power-hitters. His strike rate of 163.17 in 127 T20s is brilliant! We can’t wait for the T20 World Cup to begin!
