IND VS AUS: India to Practice Under Lights for 1st T20I Against Australia

The first T20 between India and Australia is all set to take place on Tuesday at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. Both sides have had plenty of net practice in the previous several days. Rohit Sharma and his teammates are to practice under lights today in preparation for the series opener.

After arriving in Mohali on Sunday, India’s players participated in a quality training session. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul, among others, spent a lot of time at the nets with their bats.
Because the game will be played at night, the Indians are to practice under lights on Monday. It will also help them prepare better for the series. This is also the final practice session before the game on Tuesday.

The practice session begins at 5 p.m. and at the same time we are expecting KL Rahul, India’s vice-captain will also attend the press conference today at the same time and may provide insight on India’s Playing XI for the first T20.

Regulars like Kohli, Rohit, Rahul, and Suryakumar are likely to have another productive session with the bat in the middle. Both Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik will be eager to show that they are ready for the opening game in Mohali, with Rahul Dravid keeping a close eye on the events. Expectations are high from team India’s batting department as after the Asia Cup flop show, serious practice for T20 World Cup 2022 starts with this series.

The practice session would also assist management to assess Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness levels. Both players are returning to the India team after missing the Asia Cup owing to injury. Umesh Yadav was added to the squad last minute as Mohammad Shami got tested positive for COVID. There will be a clear update on his role in the squad and whether he will be included playing XI.

When it comes to the press conference, Rahul is bound to be asked about the pressure, especially since Rohit has confirmed Kohli as one of the World Cup openers. Though the playing XI will not be released, he will face queries on the team composition for the Mohali T20.

The first match between India and Australia will take place on 20th September 2022. The following matches are on the 23rd and 25th of September in Nagpur and Hyderabad respectively.
