PCB Requests New Zealand Cricket To Play Two More T20I’s

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested the New Zealand Cricket to play 2 more T20I games against their teams over their visit to the nation later this year, before the World T20 Cup in the UAE. Let’s look at What PCB Requested New Zealand Cricket.

The squad in New Zealand will be playing 3-ODIs and as many T20 matches on the visit, which would be it’s first to Pakistan since 2002, in the months of September and October, as per sources.

“Yes negotiations are being held with Cricket New Zealand to play two additional T20 matches because of the World T20 Cup but nothing is finalized as yet,” a source said.

In the 2021/22 season, the PCB is organizing a selection of leading teams including New Zealand, England, the West Indies and Australia. In December, West Indies and in Feb/March 2022 Australia are expected officially.

Australia Likely To Send Inspection Committee To PAK

Those tours also placed the PCB in the situation that, instead of its normal window from 20 February to 23 March, it has to prolong the Pakistan Super League till April-May.

Before the World T20 Cup, the three lions will travel to Pakistan for the first time since 2005-06, followed by a T20 series against the West Indies and Australia.

Australia so far has not been playing in Pakistan since 1998 and will send an inspection committee to Pakistan for review of its tour plans in September.

No top-ranking testing team visited Pakistan between 2010 to 2018 because of security issues following the terrorist attack in March 2009 of the Sri Lankan Team bus in Lahore.
