PCB Is Confident In Hosting Matches In Pakistan: Ehsan Mani

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ehsan Mani, is optimistic about the impending England and New Zealand visits to Pakistan. There have been discussions about the uncertainty surrounding the 2 trips for the past few days. For 18 and 16 years, consecutively, New Zealand and England will visit Pakistan.

The series takes place between September and October, just before the T20 World Cup. The Taliban’s control of Afghanistan, on the other hand, has prompted worries and impact negatively on the series’ efficient conduct. New Zealand and England security staff are reportedly able to visit Pakistan before the series to examine the situation.

There are no problems in hosting matches in Pakistan: Ehsan Mani

Ehsan Mani, on the other hand, stated that holding the competitions in the nation is not a problem. “Cricket is taking place [in Pakistan] and we have New Zealand coming in September followed by England in October. There are no problems in hosting matches in Pakistan,” Mani told in an Interaction.

Despite receiving approval from security expert Reg Dickason, New Zealand will proceed with the series. Few Kiwi stars voiced concerns about visiting the nation for the series. New Zealand will arrive in Islamabad on September 11 for 3 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 5 Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is) in Rawalpindi and Lahore, accordingly.

Reg Dickason, an international security consultant, and specialist were recruited by New Zealand cricket authorities to conduct a security screening and provide his opinion about whether the Kiwis can bring their players to the series or not. Due to their IPL obligations, New Zealand will be without several key players for the series.

Dickason has been a regular visit to Pakistan to carry out security and other cricket related assessments for the International Cricket Council and other boards in recent years so we are confident there is no one better than him to give a compressive report on the security situation in the region following the events in Afghanistan,” an official source in the Pakistan Cricket board said.

Pakistan will host England’s men’s as well as women’s teams for a white ball series in October. For perhaps the first time after 2005, England will visit Pakistan.
