MS Dhoni’s exclusion from the BCCI Annual Contract list
After the BCCI excluded MS Dhoni from its Annual Contract list, the fans started assuming that he would retire soon from an international career. The cricket fans are waiting to see the star player return to the field in blue jersey again.
However, it came as a relief when N Srinivasan, owner of Chennai Super Kings(CSK), confirmed about Dhoni’s participation in IPL.
MS Dhoni as a constant player for CSK
MS Dhoni has always been a regular for CSK ever since the establishment of the cash-rich T20 league. The Men in Yellow have made it to finals most times. Dhoni is a very important figure in the CSK set-up. Recently, N Srinivasan stated that MS Dhoni was going to play this year and next year as well.
Mega auction in IPL
CSK held onto MS Dhoni ahead of the mega auction last time around. According to it, the former captain earns an amount of Rs 15 crores every year in the auction. However, not having age on his side, the franchise is planning to cut down his price this time.
While there were doubts about MS Dhoni’s participation in the IPL 2021, Srinivasan cleared it all with his statement.
Most probably MS Dhoni will say goodbye to the game after IPL 2021, and by securing his services, CSK will build a team for the future. Overall, CSK has won the league thrice and lost their fourth championship final in the last edition, in 2019
