COVID-19 is still having an effect on the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL). Glenn Maxwell, the captain of the Melbourne Stars, has now screened positive for COVID in the tests.

The deadly virus has wrecked the Stars’ squad, infecting a lot of their first-choice players. In addition, the Stars had to deal with local teams to replace players in their match against the Melbourne Renegades.
Adam Zampa, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Marcus Stoinis, on the other hand, will be accessible for the Stars’ upcoming encounter against the Adelaide Strikers, since their required 7-day isolation process has been completed.

I never realized how much it was going to affect my mental state: Cartwright
Hilton Cartwright of the Stars’ camp stated that it seems that Covid-19 has negatively impacted his mental condition. Cartwright went on to say that he and his family have been held captive in his room and are cautious about taking the elevator because they believe someone in the lift may have been infected with Covid-19.
“I’ve never felt more vulnerable to a virus in my entire life and I never realized how much it was going to affect my mental state. I’ve had form slumps and this ranks right up there with how I actually feel about going about my business day-to-day”.
“Myself and my wife have basically been locked up in our room, not sure if we’re capable of catching the lift in case someone in there might have caught (COVID-19),” said Hilton Cartwright as quoted by Cricket Australia.
Hilton Cartwright also stated that the virus is now always in his thoughts, and he finished by saying that the players would have to deal with the infection while competing in the Big Bash League (BBL).
“Constantly, it’s on your mind and then you’ve got to walk out there and perform one of the biggest pressure stages in the world,” concluded Cartwright.
