Injury Scares for Australia just days before T20 World Cup

Josh Inglis, the backup wicketkeeper, has been taken to the hospital after suffering a cut to his right hand following a golfing accident in Sydney, raising questions about an injury only days before Australia’s opening T20 World Cup match. Josh Inglis reportedly appears to be in a lot of pain after being hurt when a golf club broke.

Significance of the Injury

Josh’s innovative hitting has resulted in a strike rate of 141.02 in the few opportunities he has had to bat. Australia will replace Inglis from the Australia squad, only if the injury turns out to be serious.

Josh Inglis, the wicketkeeper for Australia, injured while playing golf and taken to a nearby hospital in Sydney. Although it is difficult determine the extent of his injury, the medical staff is currently evaluating the 27-year-old.

Although Inglis has taken part in nine T20Is, it is sure that he won’t be joining Australia’s starting XI for the competition unless Matthew Wade, the team’s preferred wicketkeeper, suffers an injury or a concussion substitute is required.

Taking about wicket-keepers injury this season, Jonny Bairstow, an England wicketkeeper-batsman, also disqualified from the event owing to a golf accident; on the day the team revealed, he slipped on a tee box and broke his ankle severely.

With a strike rate of 141.02 from his creative batting, he has done well in his few opportunities. He is surely the Wade’s obvious replacement after his retirement.

Josh Inglis’s recent matches

Inglis was also a member of the team that competed in the UAE for the previous Men’s T20 World Cup. He only appeared in three of Australia’s games before this event. Including the warm-up game against India on Monday at the Gabba and the two matches on the tour of India.
