James Anderson Hopes To Play In England’s Tour Of Sri Lanka

England’s Tour To Sri Lanka

After winning the series with 3-1 in South Africa, along with 90 points in World Test Championship, England is now all set to go on Sri Lanka tour in the next month.

England’s next challenge is to play 2 Tests on the spin-friendly and slower pitches of Sri Lanka which will be concluded at the end of March. After that England’s next Test will be against the West Indies in the month of June.

James Anderson Hopes To Play In The Tour

The fast-bowler of England team, James Anderson puts himself forward for the selection of Sri Lanka tour and said he is hopeful to be fit for England’s tour of Sri Lanka next month.

He has returned to training after the rib injury that he suffered in South Africa. He is advised to take rest for the two Sri Lanka tests. But Anderson said that he would be available and will leave the decision up to the selectors.

Past Records Of James Anderson

Anderson played the first two Test matches in South Africa. Due to calf strain, his first cricket in almost five months failed in the Ashes.

He collected 5 wickets for 40 during the first inning in Cape Town and a record-breaking 28th 5-wicket haul for England. His team leveled the series, but then ruled out for the rest of the tour.

Ed Smith Set To Announce The Squad

Ed Smith, the national selector of England team is set to announce the touring squad on Monday. There have been indications that England is thinking to leave Anderson and Stuart Broad at home for that tour.

But due to the absence of Jofra Archer in England’s tour of Sri Lanka because of getting a stress fracture in his elbow, and continuing doubts over the durability of Mark Wood, that thinking could change.
