‘I Am Very Excited And Looking Forward To Work With Rahul Dravid’: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has made a strong start to his professional career. The beautiful right-hand batsman produced a superb fifty in his maiden T20I innings against England and wowed everyone with his aggressive stroke play. Despite India’s first-choice players away on a Test tour to England, Yadav has been given another chance, and this time he may get his ODI debut against Sri Lanka. Suryakumar about Rahul Dravid.

Very excited and looking forward to work with Dravid: Yadav

The 30-year-old understands that a strong performance in the white-ball series against the Island country may push him into the big league, and he may even get a chance to play in the T20 World Cup, which starts in only 4 months.

Other than being thrilled to play in the series against Sri Lanka, Yadav is also looking forward to learning a lot from head coach Rahul Dravid, who will be the series’ head coach.

‘I have heard from many players that Rahul sir is very calm’: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar about Rahul Dravid. “It is a great opportunity for everyone to have a tour amidst this situation (COVID-19 pandemic). It is a great challenge and responsibility for everyone to come out here and express themselves.”

“Great thing is having Rahul sir around, we have heard a lot about him. This is my first tour with him but I have heard from many players that Rahul sir is very calm and composed when it comes to this role. I am very excited and looking forward to it,” said Surya in an Interview.

During the white-ball series against Sri Lanka, the 20-member team includes six uncapped players in addition to a few seasoned players. Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Chetan Sakariya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Nitish Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy. During the six matches against the Sri Lankan team, all of these young players will have an opportunity.

Dravid discussed providing youngsters multiple opportunities and identifying one or two individuals for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in October.
