England’s Tour Of Bangladesh Postponed Until March 2023: ECB

As per the England Cricket Board (ECB), during September and October 2021, England’s team were scheduled to tour Bangladesh, therefore this series was postponed till 2023. The reason for the postponement is unknown, but the limited-overs series, which would consist of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is, will now commence in March 2023. Lets have a look why England’s Tour Of Bangladesh Postponed.

The immediate threat of COVID-19 is one of the key reasons for the series’ postponement. The Bangladesh government has imposed a national curfew to stop the spread of COVID, which might be one of the causes for the series’ postponement. The series will be rescheduled once both boards agree.

According to the BBC, all 6 games will now be staged at Dhaka and Chattogram stadiums in the first 2 weeks of March. Bangladesh will play Australia in a five-match Twenty20 International series starting on August 3rd. England, on the other side, will begin a five-match Test series versus India on 4th August.

With The Postponed Bangladesh Series, England Players Will Have Some Relief

Because the series has been postponed until 2023, England’s players will get a comparatively free period in September and October 2021. The 2nd half of the 14th Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on 19th September, while England players may be allowed to compete in the league, which will be hosted in the UAE.

Owing to the crowded cricketing schedule, rumors were widespread that the ECB would not allow its players to return to the IPL, but with the Bangladesh series rescheduled, England players will have some relief in space.

Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan, Moeen Ali, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, and Tom Curran are just a few of the finest IPL players. Even with ICC T20 World Cup 2021 expected to take place in Oman and the UAE, England’s cricketers may utilize the IPL as a warm-up for the world tournament. Despite the lack of formal clearance, the route to returning to the IPL has been cleared due to the delay of the series.
