The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) Has Not Paid A Salary:
The Delhi and District Cricket Affiliation (DDCA) joint secretary Rajan Manchanda and former cricketer, Kirtivardhan Bhagwat Jha Azad have given the information to the retd Justice Deepak Verma that they have not paid a salary to their coaching and support staffs of worth Rs. 4.5 Crore.
Also, Azad mentioned that DDCA has spent a heavy amount of money on some authorized issues. And after the end of the season also, it has not paid salaries to its employees. All the official procedures with HT represent that Rs. 1.63 crore has been given to legal experts.
Kirtivardhan Bhagwat Jha Azad:
Azad has written to the judge that “Rs. 1.63 crore has been given in authorized bills only in the last few months. That’s why, a sports body will seem like a legal body where the cricket players, as well as cricket, will not reside in the center stage, but legal issues and lawyers will be the most important persons”.
Furthermore, Manchanda said that he also mentioned all these matters to the Justice. The president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary have given up for several reasons- resignation, suspension, legal work of holding workplace challenged in court calendar, and so on. –he is in the top position in DDCA.
Rajan Manchanda:
Manchanda said that “ Being the top authority, I don’t know here what my place is. The signatures in the cheques have been customized and I have been excluded from all these matters. I don’t know why the cheques have not been signed”.
According to HT on Sunday (22-03-2020), at the present situation, DDCA has Rs.11 crore in its accounts. When there was nearly Rs. 21 crore since last year November, DDCA has spent approximately Rs.4 crore on litigations and a contract has given to a building organization that is subject to a forensic audit as ordered by the Judge.
More than 50 staff are waiting for their salaries, primarily the coaches and support staff of the junior, senior and girls’ teams.
