Cricket Australia has announced a 16-man team for the white-ball clash of their historical Pakistan tour. Numerous prominent figures, notably David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood have opted out of the ODI & T20I series, and it’ll be curious to witness how the limited side contributes. Here in this article, we have discussed Australia white-ball Squad For Pakistan Tour.
Furthermore, Australia will play 3 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and a Twenty20 International (T20I) in Pakistan for the 1st time this century, beginning on March 29. Importantly, Cricket Australia would not allow any of its contractual players to participate in the initial phases of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which is slated to start in the last week of March.
Aussies would prefer to do well with available players
The Test series will feature players including Cummins, Warner, and Hazlewood, who all received huge contracts in the mega auction earlier this month. Since Starc withdrew from the competition, Royal Challengers Bangalore retained Glenn Maxwell. Furthermore, many other stalwarts of the team are expected to compete in the IPL 2022. They would, nevertheless, rejoin their respective sides following the completion of the Pakistan series.
In terms of Aaron Finch’s team, Matthew Wade has indeed been left out since just one T20I will be featured during the tour. As a result, Josh Inglis will serve as Alex Carey’s substitute wicketkeeper. For Warner’s unavailability, Finch’s opening companion will be Ben McDermott. The Australians would prefer to do well with available players like Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Marsh.

“We have picked a talented and versatile squad with a number of challenges to juggle, including the tour structure of predominantly 50 over games, management of several multi-format players in the medium to long term; and our need to build experience and depth in preparation for two short-form World Cups within the next 18 months,” said national selector George Bailey.
“We’re confident the squad can both compete successfully on this tour and continue our progress towards those crucial tournaments,” he added.
