All CSK players underwent a COVID-19 Test:

On Thursday (03-09-2020), all the players of Chennai Super Kings, who are not in their quarantine period underwent a test for Covid-19, and all those players resulted in negative.

While this result has opened the way for the players to begin their training from Friday (04-09-2020) in Dubai, it can be easily understood that now they can play against Mumbai Indians in the opening match, which is scheduled to be held on 19th September.

Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president revealed that on Friday (04-09-2020), the official schedule of 2020 IPL would be declared.

Now the players of CSK are feeling better after knowing the fact that there has been no further issue after Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar tested positive for COVID-19.

From different sources, it was suggested that RCB might take the place of CSK and play against Mumbai Indians in the opening match. But Chennai Super Kings has never asked to defer their match. They are all prepared to play the opening match as apart from those two players, all other players are tested COVID-19 negative. Considering all these, BCCI is waiting to announce the final schedule of 2020 IPL.

Mumbai Indians also won’t hesitate to play against Chennai Super Kings in the opening match, because there is a feeling that they might be a little under-cooked going into the match.

A CSK   official said “It is not an issue at all to play the first match. We are all prepared and be happy to play the 1st match if we are asked to do so.”
