Latest News: Ahead of the match, gunshots being heard within a kilometer of the team’s hotel in the morning

The England cricket team is set to take on Pakistan in the second test match at Multan from Friday. There were reports that gunshots were being heard from within the 1 km radius. As the local reports state that there was a clash between the two local gangs in the city.

Other reports stated that there was a heavy security presence, as has been the norm whenever foreign teams have visited Pakistan of late. The Pakistan Cricket Board would hope that things proceed smoothly as international cricket has returned to the country only a couple of years back and any security threat will further jeopardise their plans of hosting home bilateral series within their country.

The incident comes in the backdrop of the PCB’s ongoing protest after questions have been raised about India’s participation in the Asia Cup next year if it is held in Pakistan.

Pakistan have also been awarded the rights to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

The Question arises same is Pakistan safe for hosting international-level games on home soil? As the controversy was Pakistan was requested to take a call for a neutral ground for the Asia Cup 2023, India denied to join the troop with the other teams and they want to stay out of the Asia Cup. As Pakistan is to host the Asia cup 2023. There is a threat for the International Players as Pakistan gets the in the lime light for these incidents.

Also, Former Pakistan Cricketer and Prime Minster of the Country faced attacks. Overall, there is a huge concern for the security for the players in the upcoming years and tournaments.

Eng Vs Pak: Day 1 session 2 England Choose to bat

For Pakistan, it was hard work before Abrar Ahmed bagged the Seven wickets haul for the side and made England stop at 281.

Have to assume the wicket will be at its best on Day 1 and probably Day 2 and Pakistan need to cash in. They will be wanting to take the lead as they will be batting last. England on the other hand, will once again rely on their pacers to do the job for them. However, the wicket was assisting the spinners in the first innings. Will the English pacers come to the fore though again?

Debutant Akbar Ahmed takes 7 on England bowled out for 281

For Pakistan, it was hard work before Abrar Ahmed weaved his magic. The pacers did not get a lot of assistance from the wicket and they struggled to pick wickets. Abrar Ahmed though spun a web and was on course of taking all 10. However, Zahid Mahmood contributed towards the end as he helped his side clean the tail up.

England  will not face be very disappointment with the score they have. It is we feel, an in-between total on a wicket which did assist the bowlers. England actually were off to a really good start. They 145 for 2 but once Root fell, it was a procession, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They tried to counter-attack but Pakistan always managed to break the stand which was starting to flourish. However, because of the way England batted, they have got themselves close to the 300-run mark.
