New ICC Test, ODI and T20 Rankings

On Wednesday, ICC updated the new Test, ODI, and T20 Ranking. There is already a lot of cricket going on at the moment and that has resulted in a change in the ranking.
Let’s have a look at which player climbed up the most ladders and who lost their top rankings.

ICC Test Ranking

Batting

England right-hander Joe Root claimed the top spot on the latest ICC Men’s Test Batter rankings replacing Marnus Labuschagne who has been reigning at the spot for the past 6 months.

Root, who has already made four hundred this calendar year and is only the second Englishman to score more than 10,000 Test runs, has jumped ahead of Labuschagne to become the world’s No. 1 batter.

Labuschagne has now moved to spot 2 who is followed by his teammate Steve Smith.

Bowling

The current bowling rankings have been reshuffled, with towering Kiwi quick Kyle Jamieson sliding three spots to sixth after injuring his back against England.

As a result, India’s Jasprit Bumrah (third), Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi (fourth), and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada (fifth) all moved up a spot, while two of Jamieson’s New Zealand teammates switched places inside the top ten.

Trent Boult, an experienced left-armer, gained four spots to ninth in the bowling rankings, but compatriot Tim Southee was dropped five spots to 13th.

ICC ODI Rankings

Batting

For the first time, Pakistan now has the world’s top two ODI batters as in-form opener Imam-ul-Haq surpassed India’s Virat Kohli to join teammate Babar Azam at the top of the ICC Men’s One Day Batter rankings.

Babar Azam is at number one spot with Imam ul Haq at number 2.
Imam hit three half-centuries in Pakistan’s recent ODI series against the West Indies at home. His efforts were rewarded when he was named Player of the Series and moved up the latest rankings revealed on Wednesday.

Bowling

Trent Boult of New Zealand continues to lead the bowling rankings, but Australia’s Josh Hazlewood and his Kiwi teammate Matt Henry are closing in on him after moving up one spot to second and third, respectively.

Zeeshan Maqsood of Oman jumped most ranks in the all-rounder rankings, climbing 13 places to 10th after a series of strong performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 action.

ICC T20 Ranking

Batting

Babar Azam is the leading batter in this format too. The man has shown how he is capable of dominating multiple formats be it ODI or T20s

Behind him is his teammate batter Mohammad Rizwan who is followed by South Africa’s Aiden Markram. The young India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan is the lone Indian batter in the top 10.

Bowler

In the latest ICC Men’s T20I Bowler rankings, Australia seamer Josh Hazlewood has maintained his recent climb as a formidable white-ball bowler by capturing the No. 1 spot.

Ashton Agar, his teammate, has moved up three places to ninth overall, while Sri Lanka spinner Maheesh Theekshana has moved up 16 places to eighth overall.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is on the verge of breaking into the top ten, having reached a career-high rating of 635 rating points in the first three matches of the series against South Africa.
