Harry Kane Plays Cricket at Lord’s Ahead of The Hundred Match

Harry Kane, the captain of England and a striker for Tottenham Hotspur, played cricket at Lord’s on Monday before the London Spirit’s match against the Manchester Originals in the ongoing The Hundred event.

At the renowned cricket ground, The Lord’s, Kane and his Spurs teammate Matt Doherty were filmed bragging about their batting abilities during a six-hitting challenge. In a video of the game that The Hundred posted, Kane is shown making massive shots off of kindly full deliveries. Additionally, Kane and former India head coach Ravi Shastri was spotted providing analysis.

The England Cricket Board launched The Hundred as a test-run competition. Fans can simultaneously enjoy cricket and live music during the eight-team event, giving them a unique experience. The competition features a number of well-known international players, including Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, Wahab Riaz, and Kieron Pollard. For fans, it offers a full bundle of entertainment. The ECB made the decision to move forward with the second season following the first season’s enormous success.

Speaking of the game, London Spirit defeated Manchester Originals by 52 runs after batting first and scoring 160 for 6 in 100 balls. Eoin Morgan captained the team. Morgan smashed a 37 off 26 while Zak Crawley hit a 41 off 34. The team’s success was further aided by Kieron Pollard’s quick-fire cameo of 34 not out off 11 balls. Paul Walter’s bowling performance was 2 for 18 overall.

In response, the Manchester Originals were bowled out for 108 runs with picks of 4 for 21 from Jordan Thompson and 2 for 21 from Mason Crane.

Notably, Pollard reached the milestone of 600 T20 games played during the encounter on Monday. Following Pollard are players like Dwayne Bravo (543 games), Shoaib Malik (472), Chris Gayle (463) and Ravi Bopara (426).

Conversely, Tottenham Hotspur, Kane’s Premier League team, defeated Southampton 4-1 to open the 2022–23 season on a winning note. The team’s next match is against London rival Chelsea on August 14.
