Today is the birthday of former Indian wicketkeeper Kiran More. Born on September 4, 1962, in Baroda, More has turned 60 today. More is considered one of the best wicket-keepers in India who has made a significant impact on the game, on and off the field.

He represented India in 49 Tests and 94 ODIs. More scored 1285 runs in Tests and 563 runs in ODIs. He could not score a single century in his international career, but as a wicketkeeper, he contributed significantly to the victory of Team India. More took 130 wickets in Tests and contributed to the dismissals of 90 batsmen in ODIs. Many interesting incidents happened after More’s cricketing career and retirement. Let’s take a look at them.

Kiran More earned her international debut as a member of the 1992 World Cup squad. Consider his debut in 1986 against England. More set a record with 16 catches in the series against England. The 1992 World Cup was Kiran More’s most memorable moment in his career.

During a World Cup match between India and Pakistan, Pakistani batsman Javed Miandad caught the bat with both hands in front of wicketkeeper Kiran More on the Sydney Cricket Ground and began leaping.

Despite the fact that Kiran More has not made a significant contribution to international cricket. In Assessments and ODIs, he did not score a single century. In one-day international cricket, he failed to score a half-century. In one-day international cricket, he had the highest rating of 42. Despite this, he scored almost 5,200 runs in 151 first-class matches, had six centuries, and had a top rating of over 180.
