Australia wins over New Zealand in the Boxing Day Test.
Australia beat New Zealand by 247 runs in the second Test at Melbourne. Australia’s team continued their winning streak against New Zealand with another victory. They defeated the New Zealand team on the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test.
With this victory, Australia got to the second spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) with 256 points. Aussies also got a 2-0 series lead against New Zealand in the three-match series.
New Zealand failed to chase a big target after Australia declared their second innings at 168-5 and set a target of 488. When New Zealand began their chase, opening batsmen Latham, Ross Taylor got out for a single-digit score and their captain Williamson failed to open his account.
Tom Blundell — Lone Warrior.
Blundell started batting as one of the opening batsmen. With his responsible innings and classy shots, he became the only hope for the New Zealand team. After Kiwis’ main players left early, he played well. Especially, his partnership with Nicholas and M. Santner helped New Zealand make a respectable score of 240.

Pattinson and Lyon magic.
James Pattinson picked up big wickets of Latham, Taylor, and Willamson. On the other hand, Lyon with his spin magic destroyed the middle order. N Lyon picked up 4 wickets in his spell. In the end, M. Labuschagne picked up the wicket of Blundell.
In the second innings batting of Australia, D. Warner was the highest scorer with 38 runs. New Zealand bowler Wagner picked up 3 wickets.
Player of the Match.
Travis Head got the POM award for his brilliant ton in the first innings and a well-balanced 28 runs in the second innings. His class batting helped Australia team to score 400 plus runs in the first innings.
Wagner shines
The left-arm fast-medium Kiwis bowler Nell Wagner bowled pretty well in both the innings. He picked up 4 wickets in first innings and 3 wickets in second innings.
At the end of the second test match, Australia shined well with both bat and bowl and continued their winning streak.
