Arjun Tendulkar Not Yet Ready To Play IPL: MI Coach Shane Bond

Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been a member of the Mumbai Indians (MI) team for the previous two seasons. At the IPL 2022 blockbuster auction previously this year, Arjun Tendulkar has purchased for Rs 30 lakh by the 5-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians.

Therefore, despite the fact that MI remained bottom of the points table for the IPL 2022, Arjun Tendulkar was not ready to make his debut in the T20 competition. MI used 21 of the 24 youngsters they had on their team during the 2022 season for their tryouts. After a dismal season, the bowling coach, Shane Bond, was questioned over what Arjun had to do in order to earn a spot in the playing XI for the next season.

Due to the sheer facts, Rohit Sharma and his team decided against providing Sachin’s son with a chance to play in the Indian Premier League 2022 even after his side was formally dropped from the quest to make the playoffs.

Arjun Tendulkar has got some work to do: Shane Bond

According to the former New Zealand speedster, Arjun has to invest a lot of practice and put a huge amount of effort if he wants to enhance his batting and his fielding. “He has got some work to do. He has to work on his batting and fielding before finding a place in the team,” said Shane Bond.

In the meantime, after not playing in any matches during the Indian Premier League, Arjun was handed another devastating blow when he was cut from the Mumbai squad for the Ranji Trophy knockout matches that are lining up.

Previously, Sachin Tendulkar even acknowledged the guidance he provided to Arjun, stating he should concentrate on his play rather than stressing about earning an opportunity in the playing XI. As per Sachin, he definitely gets engaged in the selecting process and reserves the subject to the team management.

“This is a different question. What I am thinking or what I feel is not important. The season is already over. And if we speak about selection, I have never involved myself in selection. I leave all these things to the (team) management because that is how I have always functioned”, said Tendulkar.
