Team India’s all format captain Rohit Sharma is on the road to attaining full fitness and is all set to lead team India in the upcoming white-ball series against England, starting July 7.
Captain Rohit Sharma was supposed to lead the team in all six white-ball and the lone Test match when they arrived in the United Kingdom, but he sadly fell ill with COVID-19 and missed the crucial Test match.
The ongoing fifth test between India and England was originally a part of last year’s 5-match series, which India lead by 2-1. The fifth and final game was cancelled last year because of spread of COVID in various parts of Britain. Both nations boards ECB and the BCCI then mutually decided that the final test match will be played when team India travels to United Kingdom for their coloured jerseys tour in 2022.
Who is the captain of India fifth test match against England?
The experienced pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently handling the captaincy role. While Rishabh Pant is playing as a vice-captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
But there is a good news coming in for all team India and Rohit Sharma’s fans as per media report, Rohit has reportedly healed, is moving quickly toward full fitness, and will take part in India’s white ball matches, according to sources close to the BCCI.
