IND-W vs AUS-W: Super Over Thriller, India-women edge past Australia-women in the Super-over

India Women vs Australia Women 2nd T20i Match Updates

IND-W vs AUS-W: Vaidya, the last-ball four is what sent this game into the realm of the Super Over.

IND-W vs AUS-W, Match Highlights: Oh, what a game! In the run chase, India came so close to making history. India was in the driver’s seat for the pursuit thanks to Mandhana, Shafali, and Kaur, putting the hosts on track for a historic victory.

Together, they put up 76 runs for the first wicket while maintaining the required run rate. However, the Australians entered the match after a couple of fast wickets. India mounted a comeback as Mandhana and captain Harmanpreet Kaur formed a team. However, when Kaur and Mandhana went down, it appeared as though Australia had the game in hand.

However, Richa Ghosh then rose to the situation and displayed her physical strength. From an unlikely position, she managed to put India on the verge of triumph. Not to mention Vaidya, whose last-ball four is what sent this game into the realm of the Super Over.

IND-W vs AUS-W: India women yet again ending Australia’s winning Streak

Australia’s winning streak in international cricket in 2022 was broken by them yesterday. Australia has won 12 ODIs, nine T20Is, and one Test so far this year. This is their first loss across all formats. There are a whopping 22 matches in all.

The last time Australia lost a T20I match was against New Zealand in March 2021, ending an 11-match winning streak. Australia’s 26-match winning streak in one-day internationals was stopped by India in September of last year.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Australia’s Innings Early On

Australia scored 187/1 thanks to the aggressive innings of Tahlia McGrath and Beth Mooney, who tore into the Indian bowling lineup. On 82, Mooney continued to be unbeaten, and on 70, McGrath was also unbroken. In the bowling for Australia, Heather Graham managed to grab three wickets.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Super Over Thriller

Keeping their composure with regard to India was all that was required, and they succeeded in doing so. However, even for their outstanding team, 21 was a bridge too much. The World Champions made some impressive strokes but couldn’t cross the line. India deserves praise for playing with great intent throughout, especially during the run chase in the Super Over.

IND-W vs AUS-W: India Women fought until the end

Richa Ghosh’s four in the final delivery helped India reach 187 for five, tying the game. Richa scored 26 runs off 13 balls in an undefeated performance. Smriti Mandhana led India’s innings while scoring 79 runs off just 49 balls.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Smriti Mandhana creates History

Smriti Mandhana doesn’t need any introduction; she has been doing it for years and has once more demonstrated why she is one of the best at the top of the order! Smriti now holds the record for the most T20I second innings half-centuries. She also won the player of the match award for her incredible performance during the chase and in the super over.

IND-W vs AUS-W: What’s Next?
