IND vs ZIM 1st ODI: The much-anticipated series that was supposed to bring a lot of old faces make comeback is finally here. The young squad is touring Zimbabwe with a captain who will be seen in international scenes after a long break and a few key players who will try to prove their worth and grab attention. The wait is over as we have updates about the toss and playing XI for both teams.
KL Rahul in the first ODI in Harare made his comeback by winning the toss and ordering Zimbabwe to bat. Even though Rahul acknowledged he “didn’t know what to anticipate from this pitch,” he wanted his bowlers to take advantage of the early start and dampness, particularly in the first hour.
Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson were both selected by India, and Deepak Chahar made his long-awaited comeback from injury. At the toss, Rahul omitted to say who would open for India or where he would bat.
Chahar, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj made up the speed attack as expected; Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel were the spin alternatives. As an offspinner, Deepak Hooda will be India’s sixth bowling option. The series will allow the Indian players who have been traveling with the squad but haven’t had an opportunity recently to “enjoy some time in the middle,” according to Rahul.

Zimbabwean captain Regis Chakabva said that he would have preferred to bowl had they won the toss, but he stated that his opening batters would now have to “negotiate the first hour.” As a result of their top order’s performance against Bangladesh in one-day internationals, Zimbabwe elected to open this time with Tadiwanashe Marumani and Innocent Kaia, dropping Takudzwanashe Kaitano. But the seasoned Sean Williams’s comeback gave them a lift.
