IND Vs ENG 1st Inning Highlights
In the steaming 2nd semifinals of T20 World Cup 2022, India and England are fighting for a place in the finals. After winning the toss, England elected to bowl forcing India to bat first. At the end of first innings, India posted a score of 168 at the loss of 6 wickets. England now needs 169 runs to win and reach the finals.
IND VS ENG India’s Score in Powerplay
India did not have the best start to the match as the team lost KL Rahul in the 2nd over only. Virat entered the field and it was a relief for the team as him and Rohit formed the first stable partnership from India
We saw some good shots from Rohit’s bat but that too did not last for long. He lost his wicket after scoring a run a ball 27 in the last over. Surya replaced Rohit and we were expecting some great batting from the famous duo. But soon after, Surya got out on 9 by Adil Rashid.
IND VS ENG Middle Overs
India was in deep trouble and once again, India had to rely on Virat Kohli. He started a little slow but went on to do what he usually does. Build his innings according to the pace of the match. Hardik Pandya came with a shining in the match as he ran off the pressure with Virat Kohli to form a good partnership. The runs did not come with just boundaries but they kept the scoreboard ticking with ones and twos and occasional boundaries.
IND VS ENG Death Overs
When the clock hit 15+ overs, India started to pace its innings. We saw some amazong sixes by Hardik Pandya’s bat. Virat Kohli once again finished his half century, his 4th in the T20 World Cup 2022. He also edge past 4000 runs in T20I cricket. AFter finishing his 50, he got out on the next ball…
Even though the partnership got India out of danger but there was still of lot of work to be done. Hardik Pandya ensured that he played the finisher’s role just fine. He went on to score a blazing 50 bringing some relief to India fans’ faces. His innings was ended on the last ball of the innings when after hitting a six and a four, he got out by getting hit wicket. He scored 63 off 33 balls at the strike rate of 190+
IND VS ENG England Bowling
England bowled quite fairly in the first half of the innings but as expected, they lost momentum in the second half. The experience of Kohli and Pandya did not help them. Chris Jordan was the leading wicket taker for the team and took 3 wickets. He bowled amazing line and length through the innings. Adil Rashid and Chris Woakes took 1 wicket each.
