ICC Announced Five-Match Test Series For FTP 2023-27

FTP 2023-27: India is set to play two five-day test matches against Australia and England from 2023 to 2027. These matches will be played as a part of the World Test Championship. It is the first time that three teams will be participating in the Five-match test series, this happened last time in 1992.

The International Cricket Council early Wednesday announced the Future Tour Programs (FTP 2023-27). Overall 777 international matches will be played. 173 tests, 281 ODI’s, 323T20I’s.

England cricket team will play 22 test matches, no other team will play more test matches than England, followed by Australia who will be playing 21 test matches and India will play 20 test matches.

The schedule shows the importance given to the test matches especially, the main surprise element will be the five-match test series which will be played between India, Australia, and England.

ICC General Manager Wasim Khan has also expressed his thoughts saying “I’d like to thank our Members for the effort that has gone into creating this FTP for the next four years. We are incredibly lucky to have three vibrant formats of the game, with an outstanding program of ICC global events and strong bilateral and domestic cricket, and this FTP is designed to allow all cricket to flourish.”

Recently after the ICC announced the first ever women’s FTP on Tuesday for the 2022-25 period where they will be playing 300 matches, The BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a recent statement that “I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all my colleagues at the CEC for the historic Women’s FTP – t Men’s FTP he first of its kind and the continued spirit of partnership to conclude the Men’s FTP which provides certainty to all the members to develop their cricketing eco-systems as well as commercial programs around their own calendars.”
