Team India’s regular leg spinner in white-ball cricket Yuzvendra Chahal (Happy Birthday Yuzvendra Chahal) is celebrating his 32nd birthday today.

Chahal was born on July 23, 1990, in Jind, Haryana, India, and is known for his magical leg spin bowling at crucial times.

So far in his international career, he has picked 192 wickets in 127 games (ODI+T20 combined), including 3 fifers and 6 six-four wicket hauls, and he has played a crucial role in guiding India to many important matches.

Yuzvendra Chahal is an important part of team India’s white-ball team and his success is not only limited to Asian countries, he did well on the bouncy pitches of England and Australia too.

When Did Chahal Make His International Debut?

He made his international debut against Zimbabwe in June 2016, in both ODI and T20I formats and he cemented his place in a star-studded Indian side. He instantly became everyone’s favorite due to his impressive bowling skills and the ability to provide breakthroughs at crucial times.

Chahal came into the limelight after his outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League in 2016, where he took 21 wickets in 13 games and later became the second highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

He was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2021, but in 2022 he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 6.6 crores during the IPL 2022 mega auction.

The leggie again impressed everyone with his bowling and claimed 27 wickets in 17 games, which was the highest amongst all as a result Yuzvendra Chahal won the purple cap of IPL 2022. He not only won the purple cap in the 15 edition of IPL but also helped his side reach the final after 14 years.

Talking about one of his fine international outings, when India and England were all set to witness the winner of the series in the series decider of the 2017 T20 series, Chahal did exactly what India wanted and help his side win the series.

After putting 202 onboard India asked a tough question to chase, however, England looked all set to chase down when they were at 119 for 2 in 13.2 overs, then Chahal came to rescue and picked up 6 wickets and broke the back of England as the visitors lost their 8 wickets in the span of just 8 runs and lost the game by a big margin of 75 runs.

Chahal recorded his best T20 figure in that match with 6 wickets by giving just 25, and also became the first-ever Indian bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in a T20 game.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s Records And Achievements

The spin magician of India is currently the highest wicket-taker for India in T20 Internationals.

He claimed the honor of having the first bowler to grab a six-wicket haul in T20I cricket.

The Jind native took the highest number of wickets in T20I cricket in 2017 with 23.

Last but not the least, the interesting thing to know about the star spinner is that he is the only player to represent India in both chess and cricket.
