Big boost for New Zealand as Trent Boult included in the T20 World Cup squad

Trent Boult and Jimmy Neesham are back in the Squad:

T20 WC 2022:New Zealand Cricket named the 15-man roster for the 2017 T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in October and November.

Trent Boult and Jimmy Neesham, two players who recently turned down central contracts, are allowed to join the team for the T20 world cup. The only newcomers from the squad that advanced to the UAE tournament’s final are Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell, who have been selected for their first senior World Cups.

This will be a huge boost for the New Zealand side the pacer a few days back did not extend his contract, and now his availability for New Zealand, the pace attack looks strong with Trent Boult, Tim Southee, and Mitchell Santner’s experience and some fresh talent, we should not forget that this New Zealand squad almost same team reached the finals of the World Cup last year and were one step away from winning the prestigious world cup silverware.

New Zealand Head coach after the squad announcement “It’s always a special time announcing a World Cup squad and I’d like to congratulate the 15 players selected today. It’s especially exciting for Finn and Michael who are set for their first ICC events, while Martin Guptill is preparing for his 7th T20 World Cup, which in itself is an incredible achievement.”

He went on to say “It’s wonderful to have this competition so soon after the one from the previous year when we played some excellent cricket but ultimately fell short of the finish line. We should enter the competition with a lot of excitement because the core of that team was retained and Finn and Michael are interesting additions.”

Kane Williamson (captain), Finn Allen, Trent Boult, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee make up New Zealand’s T20 World Cup squad.
