Australia won the toss and elected to bat in Sydney’s first three-match series ODI against New Zealand.

Brimming with optimism after a 5-0 ODI series win and a 2-0 series sweep in tests against India, New Zealand will leave no stone unturned continue its winning streak in this series as well.

On the other hand, Australia will look to get the most out of its home conditions and beat its Trans-Tasman rivals. The hosts are coming against the Proteas on the back of a disappointing 0-3 ODI series defeat and will look for course correction in this regard.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive of Cricket Australia, Kevin Roberts, had told on Thursday that due to global coronavirus pandemic, the ODI series would be played behind closed doors.
