Adil Usman Rashid, popularly known as Adil Rashid was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England on 17 February 1988. Adil Rashid is a right-arm leg spinner who has been a part of the English squad for the past 5 years in all three formats of Cricket. Adil Rashid has faced a lot of ups and downs in his career but presently he is the lead spinner for the English bowling unit. Rashid was also the part of English squad in ICC World Cup 2019. Adil Rashid started playing cricket at the age of 8 years. He worked hard in his early stages and was seen as a young bright talent in his schooling days. At the age of 14 years, Rashid was selected to the Yorkshire Academy. Rashid played many matches for the academy and emerged as the match winner for them. In 2006, Adil Rashid smashed consecutive centuries for his club.

In 2006, Adil Rashid was selected in the Yorkshire County Club and made his first-class debut for the club in the same season. On his debut against Warwickshire, Adil Rashid picked a five-wicket haul and marked his entry in the English Domestic circuit.

Rashid was picked up in the Under-19 team of England that went on to play against India Under-19 team. During the second test of the tour, Adil Rashid picket 10 wickets in the match and scored 172 runs.

During his first season, he was selected as a regular member in the squad of Yorkshire. In English County season 2007, Adil Rashid picked 43 wickets and smashed 837 runs. He ended up as the most successful all rounder for the season.

In 2008, Adil Rashid was selected in the squad of England Lions to play Duleep Trophy in India. Rashid picked 6 wickets in 2 matches he played in the tournament.

In 2008, Adil Rashid picked 62 wickets in the English County season and ended up as the highest wicket taker for his team.

Adil Rashid was selected in the squad of England for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2016 and performed well during the whole tournament. In the finals as well, Rashid picked 1 wicket and just gave 23 runs in 4 overs.

In a series against India in 2017, Adil Rashid was picked up as the lead spinner for England and he took 17 wickets in 4 tests he played during the series. Adil Rashid was also picked up in the squad for Champions Trophy where he performed extremely well for his team .

In 2019, Adil Rashid was picked up in the squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup where he also played his 150th Match for the national side. Adil Rashid played an important role for his team in the tournament as England won the World Cup for the first time in the history.

In 2020, Adil Rashid became first English spinner to reach the milestone of 150 wickets in ODIs.
