HH-W Vs BH-W Match Highlights: Hobart Hurricanes return to the top four and win three consecutive games for the first time since WBBL. After they clinched a win and went ahead with a third straight which leads Hobart to the 4th

In the Weber WBBL|08 standings, the Hobart Hurricanes have jumped from fifth to third after defeating the Brisbane Heat by six wickets on Saturday night in a rain-shortened game.

Wild weather in Adelaide, which was hammering the capital of South Australia and breaking one of the sight screens at Karen Rolton Oval. causing a delay in the game.

Amazingly, the match was trimmed to 13 overs for each side after rapid work by the ground crew. Who dried the outfield and set up a new temporary sight screen, only caused a one-hour delay in play.

With the ball in hand early on, the Hurricanes gained control of the game when Molly Strano took a return catch to dismiss Georgia Voll. Who had been shifted to the opening position in place of the injured Georgia Redmayne, for a duck.

Hayley Jensen picked up the big wicket of Danni Wyatt (4) and Amelia Kerr (3) also departed cheaply.

The Heat slumped to 3-18 before reaching 6-100 courtesy of solid knocks from Grace Harris (41 off 30 balls) and Laura Harris (32 off 20).

However, the total was not enough, as the Hurricanes reached 4-101 with three balls to spare.

Before Elyse Villani (26 no off 17 balls) led her team to victory. Hurricanes’ opening batswoman Lizelle Lee (24 off 19 balls) and Mignon du Preez (37 off 29 balls) laid the groundwork.

Following a slump in performance, Villani dropped to No. 5 for the abbreviated game, elevating Ruth Johnston (6), who delivered the most fluid performance of the season thus far.

The Hurricanes have now won three straight games, a feat they have not accomplished since the WBBL|01. And they have maintained their position as favourites to end their five-year finals drought.
