The Hundred: Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 97 in vain as Danni Wyatt guides Brave to victory

The Hundred Women’s 2022: Beth Mooney’s record-breaking 97 goes in vain as in the second game of The Hundred in England Southern Brave’s Danni Wyatt’s 65 help her side win the match.

In the 150-plus run chase game in 100 balls format, Beth Mooney entertained the fans with her brilliant batting skills as she played a superb knock of 97 off 55 with help of 16 fours and a maximum to guide her side to 155 in 100 balls.

She remained unbeaten till the end and missed the much-deserved century by 3 runs, but the pain of losing the game even after putting so much effort will remain big in front of the missing ton.

The Hundred Women’s 2022 – London Spirit Vs Southern Brave Match Highlights:

Batting first, London spirit started their campaign on a destructive note, thanks to Beth Mooney, who took the Arial mode from the start of the beginning itself.

The opening batter Grace Scrivens walked back to the pavilion after scoring 1, and at that the score of London spirit was 36, truly justifying the destructiveness of Mooney.

Amelia Kerr joined Mooney in scoring quick runs, however, got out after scoring 37 while Mooney remained strong till the end and help her side cross 150 mark with her brilliant 97 off 55.

Amanda Wellington remained the pick of the bowler for Southern Brave with 3 wickets.

Chasing a target of 156, London spirit also started well, with both of their openers fired up the innings from start itself. India’s Smriti Mandhana got out after scoring 19. While Danni Wyatt took the responsibility of chasing the target on her shoulder and played a 65-run knock off just 34, including 12 fours and 2 sixes before getting run-out.

But her innings was enough to help Southern Brave claim a victory in the second game of The Hundred Women’s 2022 competition.

Apart from her, Sophia Dunkley also did a great job in helping her side reach the target with an unbeaten 34 off 24.

The third match of the competition will be played between Manchester Originals versus Trent Rockets at Emirates Old Trafford on august 13.
