Sachin Tendulkar continues to be one of the biggest sports stars in the country even after his retirement. Hence, it becomes obvious that there would be lots of wishes to flow on the eve of the birthday of this great sportsman. The former Indian batsman turned 47 on April 24, 2020.
Twitter was full of greetings for the legendary batsman. However, during the COVID-19 crisis, it was decided that Mumbaikars should not celebrate his 47th birthday as a tribute to the frontline workers. But, still, he has received the likes and tweets of many stars, most notably from Virat Kohli.
The Indian captain posted a tweet in which he wished the legendary batsman. He uploaded a post with a picture of him with Sachin Tendulkar in one of the IPL matches. Kohli’s tweet read, “Happy birthday to a man whose cricket passion has inspired many. Wishing you a wonderful year, Pajji. “

BCCI celebrates Sachin’s birthday by walking down the memory lane
Sachin Tendulkar also received greetings from the official Twitter handle of the BCCI. The post features Tendulkar’s 41st Test ton, which he got in a Test match in Chennai in 2008 against England. The board tweeted, “Master Blaster @sachin_rt turns 47, we relive one of the greatest knock-offs against England in 2008. He dedicated this ton to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack victims. Happy birthday to the legend.
The innings in the video is one of Tendulkar’s magnificent knock. He scored a century in a tough run-chase when the Indians needed 387 to win the final day against England. Tendulkar’s century helped India win the famous Test that was held after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket in 2013. At the time, he was the highest run-scorer in both ODIs and Tests. He still holds that record and is the only person who has scored 100 centuries internationally. Third on that list is Virat Kohli, 70 centuries. Many such records were created by the iconic Indian batsman and might not be ever broken.
Apart from this, many other famous cricketers wish Master Blaster his birthday. Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravi Shastri are the stars who wished him.
Here are their tweets:
