Happy Birthday Sir Ravindra Jadeja – Finest All-Rounder Of Indian Team

Jadeja, also known as Jaddu, is a popular ‘Men in Blues’ player. He is undoubtedly the best all-rounder in Team India. Ravindra Jadeja, originally Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja, was born in Jamnagar, Gujarat on 06 December 1988. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and a left-hand orthodox bowler. He is also one of its finest fielders.

He was one of the players of the under-19 cricket team, which won the U-19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2008 under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. He played his debut ODI in 2009 against Sri Lanka. In that particular match, he scored 60* in 77 balls. In 2012, he made his Test debut against England.

He played a major part in the brilliant performance of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which bought him in 2012 for Rs 2 million.

He plays under the captaincy of MS Dhoni for that team. After the ban of CSK for two years, he represented his home town’s franchise, i.e., the Rajkot-based Gujarat Lions, which had bought him for Rs 9.5cr.

He is the first Indian left-arm spinner to take 150 wickets in ODIs and became the top-ranked bowler behind Ashwin and maintained that position for a long time. He played a key role in U-19 by taking 10 wickets in 6 matches at an average 13.00

In 2012, he became the 8th player to score triple centuries in Ranj Trophy. Jadeja caught the attention of the national selectors with his strong all-round showing in the 2008–09 Ranji Trophy by taking 42 wickets and scoring 739 runs – and was picked for the ODI series in Sri Lanka.

After the loss in the form of all-rounder players like Yusuf Pathan, selectors had the option of Jadeja to replace them. Jadeja was awarded the man of the match award following a haul of four wickets. His best bowling figures are 4–32.

In the second T20I of the Australian tour in February 2012, Jadeja had figures of 1/16 in 3 overs and effected two run-outs in the Australian innings. India went on to win the game and Jadeja was awarded Man of the Match, mainly for his fielding effort.

Happy Birthday Ravindra Jadeja

“Did you know since the start of January 2018 the all-rounder averages 55.66 with the bat in the Test cricket and 27.89 with the ball and who could forget this famous celebration”-tweet by ICC.
