Babar Azam Gives A Savage Reply To Tanvir Ahmed

🕒 4 min read

Pakistan’s newly named ODI Captain Babar Azam slammed former cricketer Tanvir Ahmed on Monday (May 18) for suggesting that Babar should improve his English speaking skills.

A majority of Pakistan cricketers were criticized and rolled over on social media for their poor English speaking skills during their post-match press conferences such as former skippers, Inzamam Ul-Haq and Sarfraz Ahmed. Ahmed wrote a Youtube video urging Babar to learn English and to develop his overall personality.

“Babar Azam also needs to improve his English, which is essential. When someone is a captain, he has to talk at the time of toss and post-match presentation. He also gives interviews on different channels when he travels to different countries,” said Tanvir.

The 41-year-old Tanvir, who played for Pakistan in 5 Tests, 2 ODIs and 1 T20I, has faced flak on social media for making an external reference to Babar.

Babar Azam Replied to Tanvir

Babar replied to Tanvir’s advice and said, “I’m a cricketer and my job is to play cricket for my country. I’m not a ‘Gora’ who can speak English thoroughly. Yes, I’m working on it, but over a while, you’re learning these things, you can’t just learn it all of a sudden.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Babar said  “We know better than other teams that over the past ten years, we have been playing most of our cricket in Dubai without a crowd. This isn’t a big feeling for the fans, nor it is great for us,” he concluded.
