Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Mendis was arrested on Sunday after reportedly engaging in a deadly crash with a cyclist who died instantly, just outside Colombo, the country’s capital, the police said. The 25-year-old batsman was driving an SUV in Panadura before dawn, police said. Mendis was named in the 16-player squad for the two-game home test series against England in March, but the tour was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
