Who Will replace KS Bharat In the IND vs ENG 3rd Test?

Team India loses patience with KS Bharat; Dhruv Jurel set to debut in the third Test against England in Rajkot

The Indian team management’s faith in KS Bharat may be waning, as the wicketkeeper is scheduled to be replaced in the playing XI for the Rajkot Test by the young Dhruv Jurel. Bharat has taken over India’s wicketkeeping duties since Rishabh Pant’s injury, and while he is a fairly safe bet with the gloves, his hitting has been far from convincing.

Also, Bharat has not made a half-century in seven Tests, and his fragility against strong bowling assaults has effectively reduced him to a walking wicket.

Bharat’s dismal performance of 221 runs from 7 Tests and 12 innings at an average of 20.09 exemplifies his troubles. He may have just scored an unbroken 116 for India A against the England Lions, but his senior team figures are causing concern.

As a result, with India’s batting line-up failing to produce positive results, particularly in the second innings, a story in the Times of India claims that Bharat’s time with the Indian team may be coming to an end.

Bharat’s batting has been woefully inadequate, and his fielding has also been poor. He isn’t taking use of his chances. Jurel, on the other hand, has skill, a positive attitude, and a promising future. He has performed well for Uttar Pradesh, India A, and the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

Jurel’s success extends beyond the domestic circuit. During the IPL 2023, he turned attention when he came on as an impact player for the Rajasthan Royals and scored 32 off 15 balls against the Punjab Kings. He was signed by the Royals for ₹20 lakh. Jurel was vice-captain of India’s Under-19 team, which came perilously close to winning the World Cup in 2020.

Do not be shocked if Jurel makes his Test debut in Rajkot.
