West Indies To Tour Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the upcoming schedule for the limited-overs series against West Indies during February and March. West Indies is going to tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and two T20Is. West Indies will arrive in Sri Lanka on February 10.
The visitors will play two warm-up matches on February 17th and 20th. They will play the first ODI on 22nd February.
The first warm-up match will be unofficial and is going to held at P. Sara Oval. The second match will be official and will be played against the Board President’s eleven at Katunayake. It will be the official start of their tour in Sri Lanka.
Dates and venue
The first ODI match of the series will be held on the 22nd of February at the Colombo SSC. The second and third ODIs will be played on 26th February and 1st of March at Hambantota and Kandy, respectively.
They will play two T20s on March 4th and 6th. Both of them will be played in Kandy.
Past Matches Between The Teams
The last time the two teams faced each other in a bilateral series was in 2018. At that time, Sri Lanka played three Test matches in West Indies and the series result was 1-1.
Meanwhile, West Indies hasn’t toured Sri Lanka since 2015. There they lost to the opponents 3-0 in ODIs and leveled T20Is 1-1.
Sri Lanka and West Indies have faced each other nine times in T20Is. Sri Lanka won six matches while West Indies won three.
