Pakistan Is A Concern For All Teams In The T20 WC: Vaughan

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan is concerned about the impact Pakistan poses toward any side in the T20 World Cup in 2021. The Men in Green have dominated all 3 games in the big competition and are on the approach of qualifying for the semi-finals. Babar Azam and his team beat Afghanistan by 5 wickets on Friday, 29 October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Here is what Vaughan Speaks About Pakistan Team.

Vaughan Speaks About Pakistan Team

Despite a brilliant win versus India, they had to struggle a little bit against New Zealand and the Afghans. Fortunately, Asif Ali and others did their jobs to help their side reach the finish line. Vaughan also believed that Saturday’s encounter featuring Australia and England will determine the ultimate Group 1 table-toppers.

“Tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) England vs Australia game is a monster. Whoever wins is going to finish top. I am sure Pakistan are going to finish top in their group. I would not want to face Pakistan in the semi-final. “I’ll be more than happy to play in the other semi-final and hope someone knocks them (Pakistan) out. We are a long way off from the final but they seem to have everything,” said Vaughan.

According to Vaughan, Pakistan’s batting order is set, and the opposition will find it impossible to control them throughout the competition.

“In this Pakistan team, you have that opening combination (Azam and Rizwan), you have got that experience in the middle with Hafeez and Malik. Now, you have got finishers, and with their bowling combination, they look a terrific side,” he stated.

On Friday, Asif Ali hammered Karim Janat for 4 sixes in the final over to seal Pakistan’s victory. Naveen-ul-Haq reintroduced Afghanistan into the play to give only 2 runs in the 18th over, however, Asif ruined their celebration.

“To get over the line in the fashion that they ended up doing, it sends quite a strong message. They were pushed into a corner by Afghanistan and they came out with a fantastic victory because of a team contribution. It’s concerning for all other teams in the competition,” Vaughan added.

England, on the other hand, has won both of their first two matches. With a gross run rate of 3.614, the Three Lions are comfortably above Group 1.
