Nabi Shuts A Journalist’s Query On Country’s Political Issues

Afghanistan’s captain, Mohammad Nabi, effectively shuttered a journalist who intended to grill him about the nation’s political relationships with Pakistan. The Taliban just gained control of Afghanistan, and the journalist attempted to convince Nabi to answer his questions about the country’s political issues. Here is Why Mohammad Nabi Shuttered A Journalist

He also wondered if Afghanistan’s good relations with Pakistan will benefit the country’s cricket improve in the future. Nabi, on the other hand, remained cool and advised the journalist to limit his queries to cricket-related topics and not to probe into Afghanistan’s political issues.

It would be better if we talk about cricket, Nabi replies to the journalist

Nabi was present at the post-match news conference following Pakistan’s five-wicket victory against Afghanistan on Friday, 29 October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

“Afghanistan have played very well and they have won two matches. Is there any kind of fears that when you return home, you will be questioned as the government and situation have changed?” the journalist asked.

“In this new era, Afghanistan share a healthy relation with Pakistan. Do you feel that the Afghan team will be strengthened because of this?” the journalist questioned further.

Nabi replied, “Can we talk about cricket leaving aside the situation? It would be better if we talk about cricket. We are here for the World Cup after taking proper preparations. So, you may ask any questions related to cricket.”

Following Nabi’s refusal to answer the topic, the reporter insisted on communicating with him. The person in charge of the media briefing asked the journalist not to ask Nabi any questions. Following this, the press conference came to a close, and Nabi left the room calmly.

Afghanistan scored 147 for 6 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Nabi and Gulbadin Naib both scored 35 runs to help their team to a decent score. The Afghans battled hard in defending the score, as Pakistan required 24 runs off their final 12 balls to succeed.

However, in the last over, Asif Ali smacked Karim Janat for 4 sixes to prevent Afghanistan’s win in Dubai. Afghanistan’s next match is against Namibia on October 31.
