ENG VS PAK 1st Test Day 2: Another Day of Runs at Road-like Rawalpindi, Pak Openers Add 181/0

ENG VS PAK 1st Test Day 2: It looks like Rawalpindi Pitch has nothing to offer for the bowlers. On Day 2, in the match between England and Pakistan, it was a flurry of only runs. England ended their innings at 657 all out. In answer, Pakistan is at 181 for no loss.

ENG VS PAK: More Hitting by England in 1st Session Day 2

England was bowled out for 657 runs after losing six wickets and scoring 151 more runs this morning. They achieved their enormous score at a pace of 6.5 rpo. Quite a remarkable inning on a pitch that so far resembles a road. They were Pope, Crawley, Duckett, and Brook, the four centurions. Brook even reached his 150 today, blasting 27 off Zahid Mahmood in the process to break the previous mark. Mahmood suffered greatly, scoring 235 runs in his 33 overs. But he managed to end with a four-fer by finding some late delight.

ENG VS PAK: Great Fightback by Pakistan

The Pakistani openers were excellent, content to go their own way and tell England to baz off. After Pakistan’s onslaught was thwarted all over Rawalpindi, their unbroken stand of 181 runs came at a more conventional 3.5 runs per over, but it was precisely what the doctor ordered. Ramiz Raja has already referred to the surface as “embarrassing,” and England struggled to generate opportunities, but the fact that they amassed a sizable total at more than a run per ball does give the visitors some breathing room.

Although Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique have done an excellent job, the deficit is still 476, thus Pakistan’s lineup will need to be on the lookout for mishaps for at least three more to four sessions.

ENG VS PAK: Pitch Problem

Put yourself in the position of having to bowl on this dead patch of ground. Both parties might give up since they’ve both tried. An impressive response to England’s 657 has been spearheaded by Shafique and Imam, with the first stand presently worth 181. Six bowlers have been employed by England, although none have truly had an effect.
