Santner tests positive for COVID leading to his late arrival in Ireland

Following a positive COVID-19 test, Mitchell Santner will not travel with the New Zealand ODI team to Ireland on Sunday, July 3. When he tests negative ahead of Sunday’s series start, he will be given the all-clear to depart later in the week (July 10). For a series against Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, he will also be captain of the T20 team. Here in this article, we talk about Mitchell Santner Test COVID-19 Positive.

Shane Jurgensen, the head coach for the series against Ireland, said that “Covid has been a problem and will continue to be in the future.” We will adjust as necessary and always have backup plans available, he added. “He’s feeling well, and the first aim is to get him into camp with us, hopefully later this week, so we can evaluate where he is and when he could be ready to play.

“We certainly won’t be seeking to push him,” the coach said. “We have 11 games spread throughout the three tours, plus another trip that will follow against the West Indies in August.

Once he is in Dublin and has recovered from any minor symptoms, a decision will be taken on his availability.
