England vs New Zealand 2nd TEST: Finally A Fresh Breeze of Fall of Wickets at Trent Bridge on Day 4

ENG vs NZ 2nd Test Day 4 Match Highlights:

There is finally a change in the how the 2nd Test between England and New Zealand looked like. In the new development after the end of Day 4, we finally might have a hope to see results in the Test Match that looked to end towards a draw. Here in this article we talk about ENG vs NZ 2nd Test Day 4 Match Highlights.

On Day 4 of the match, there was a fresh breeze of fall of 12 wickets, the most in a day in this test. Continuing from the previous day, England started at 473 for 5 where Joe Root was playing at 163. He could only add another 13 runs to his innings before getting out on 176 and missed his double century by 24 runs. The team could only add another 23 to the innings and got all out on 539. Newzealand bowlers had a good recovery but will be worried about the injuries taking place in their camp. Trent Boult nailed it in the end as he finished his 5 wicket haul.

Newzealand’s Tom Latham and Will Young came in to bat in the first session itself to build a good lead for the team. The Kiwi skipper lost his wicket in the very first over. After that, there was a good partnership between in form Young and Conway who added another 100 for the 2nd wicket. After the end of their partnership at 104, Newzealand who were looking comfortable started to lose out on crucial wickets owing to them trying to hit the ball too hard. It looked like they were in hurry to post a big total quickly that did not quite work out in their favor. In the next 100 runs, the team lost most of its middle-order leaving their hero Daryl Mitchell on the crease with Matt Henry. For a good change, England bowlers took advantage of Kiwi’s weakness that day and bowled spells that converted into wickets. Matthew Potts leads the wicket tally with 2 wickets in his bag.

On the final day of the test, England will hope to take the 3 wickets early in the first session and try to chase the score onboard. England should its conventional approach in the Test and should go for the win. This is Ben Stoke’s team and we can expect some aggressive batting like that in Headingley in 2019.
