ABOUT THE MATCH

Bangla Tigers and Team Abu Dhabi will be looking to kick-start their T10 League campaigns when they meet in their first fixture of the ‘Super League’ phase. The match takes place at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on November 19.

Both teams took three points from their first three games, but it is the Tigers who arrive in better form – winning their second game and tying last time out. They have fielded the same 11 in all three matches but the likes of Rilee Rossouw and Andre Fletcher have shown good batting form.

Team Abu Dhabi tied their first game, then beat Northern Warriors, but lost to Maratha Arabians last time out. They conceded 138/2 in their most recent game, in start contrast to their excellent bowling performance in restricting Northern Warriors to 92/1. They do at least have Luke Wright in good batting form though.

TOSS PREDICTION

Bangla Tigers broke with tradition and batted first last time out, but they may go back to bowling first if they win the toss this time.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS

The wicket has played largely as expected so far. There is no denying there is something there for the bowlers, but it is predominantly one for big-hitting.

It is forecast to rain later in the day but not until well after this match has been played in hot, sunny and clear conditions.

MATCH PREVIEW

Bangla Tigers

  • Bangla Tigers have stuck with the same team for all three T10 League matches so far and could continue that into the second phase.
  • Bangla Tigers finished with a tie, after losing one and winning one of their first two matches.
  • They failed to defend 108/5 in a six-wicket defeat to Deccan Gladiators first up, but Andre Fletcher’s excellent 40 from 15 balls led a chase of 115 to win the second game by five wickets with seven balls to spare.
  • Last time out, they posted 108/7 and then held Delhi Bulls to the same score to tie the game.
Team Abu Dhabi
  • Wayne Madsen replaced Nepal captain Paras Khadka last time out, while Alex Davies continued in place of Corey Anderson who has not played since he top-scored for the team in the opening game.
  • Moeen Ali has played as a batsman only, not bowling a single over in the group stage team Abu Dhabi started with a tie as both they and Qalandars scored 103, before Luke Wright hit 48 from 23 balls in a six-wicket win against Northern Warriors second up leading a chase of 93 to win.
  • Last time out, Wright hit 40* from 25 balls but it was not enough after Maratha Arabians had blasted 138/2.

PROBABLE WINNING TEAM:

Bangla Tigers finished the group phase in better form than Team Abu Dhabi, even if they have the same amount of points. There is little to separate these teams so that might just be enough.
