In the recent IPL Mega Auctions 2022, Ishan Kishan was bought for a stunning price of 15.25 Cr by the Mumbai Indians. By this purchase from the Five-time champions, he has now become the highest bid player in the IPL Auctions. And this particular incident has put the young left-handed batsmen in limelight.
There were many questions that were raised regarding his price tag in Auctions – Many experts have agreed to the price and few of them feel he’s overpriced. We just have to wait and see whether Ishan Kishan can justify his price tag or not in this edition.
Before the auctions, Ishan Kishan has expressed his belief that MI will definitely buy him back, and interestingly his prediction went right.
In a recent interview, Ishan has said that he was was worried a bit during the bidding war.
Let’s see what Kishan said – “I knew MI would go for me. That wasn’t the worrying bit. The worrying part was the rising price because MI needed to save on money to build the rest of the team. It wasn’t just about me. For a minute there, I must admit, my heart skipped a beat,”
The young dashing opening batsman was the highest and youngest player to get such a huge bid at Auctions. He will now look to perform with the same level of intensity for the side and he will look to make his mark for this edition.
He has also added – “There’s a reason why I wanted to come back to MI. They know me, they understand my game and I know my franchise and how it works. Because I’ve been part of this family, I was sure I didn’t want to go anywhere else. I’ve been here four years and the bonding has been amazing. We’ve won two trophies, stood for each other and with each other, they know my cricket and I know they will take care of me. So, I didn’t want to go anywhere else,”
It was not only Ishan Kishan, Mumbai was also successful in getting a few star players into their squad. And they will look to give a promising start to this edition and eye for a sixth title win.
