Wasn’t Selected Once In Delhi Junior Team As Dad Didn’t Pay Bribe

Cricket fields filled with bright futures, destroyed by corruption — Virat Kohli has tried to survive this fate because of his tireless efforts. The Indian captain said he was “torn” because, as a teenager, he was not picked up by the Delhi junior team after his father declined to pay for a bribe.

It’s supposed to be a shocking piece of reporting, but it’s not — bribery and nepotism have been a way of life in cricket for a long time, and the Delhi Association considered to be one of the most greedy organizations in the country. Getting ‘broken’ as a teenager made Kohli smarter: ‘I thought this world run like this.’

Kohli learned the bitter lesson early. Boys with fathers willing to pay a bribe, or a cricket player with their father or uncle, will join the team at the cost of a more worthy young player.

There are several examples of politicians or senior government officials whose children have chosen and have given their modest skills and records.

Another Delhi boy, Virender Sehwag, learned bitter lessons as a teenager because he didn’t have a chance-but Kohli after him, Sehwag knocked so many runs that it became too scandalous to ignore him.

But players who are not as mentally strong as Kohli and Sehwag are sidelined. Cricket requires cleansing urgently-The Indian cricket theme has been around this theme for the last seven years since betting, and the IPL spot-fixing scandal emerged in 2013.

The Supreme Court took a keen interest in the matter and to establish a system of accountability and transparency in the administration of cricket. However, the former managers declined to budge, producing relations or allies in positions of influence in the state committees.

With that ended the possibility of a grassroots change — at the district level, the selectors are also running a cricket academy, resulting in favoritism. People like Kohli and Sehwag were able to rise despite the system, but many people fell and perished. Were the efforts of the Supreme Court in vain?
